London Bridge Trio

"The performers do the works proud... A total delight." (THE TELEGRAPH)

Daniel founded the London Bridge Trio in 2002. Its latest incarnation, now playing together for three years, features Ben Hancox and Cara Berridge, Daniel's longtime musical partners and members of the Sacconi Quartet. The ensemble's first projects were based around the music of Frank Bridge, from whom they take their name, leading to two acclaimed recordings of his music for Dutton, the second of which was nominated for the Gramophone chamber music award. More recently, the trio have performed at the Glasshouse in Gateshead, Queen's Hall in Edinburgh, Wigmore Hall and Kings Place in London. Their most recent releases were two CDs of music by Robert and Clara Schumann, Felix and Fanny Mendelssohn for SOMM Recordings. During their two decades so far, they have held residencies at the Ponte de Lima Festival in Portugal and at St John's Smith Square in London, been featured on BBC Music Magazine's cover CD (Fanny Mendelssohn Piano Trio), commissioned new works by both David and Colin Matthews, and made further CD recordings of music by Schumann, Fauré and Dvorak.
