Daniel has been in love with Beethoven's music since his first teachers gave him Bagatelles to play and his mother made him a tape recording of Cortot, Thibaut and Casals playing the Archduke Trio from a radio broadcast. He has performed all of the chamber music and most of the solo piano sonatas numerous times, has recorded much of this repertoire and also written about Beethoven. Daniel gives frequent lecture-recitals on this music and has been celebrating his 50th year by giving complete cycles of the Piano Trios, Violin Sonatas and Cello Sonatas with Sara Trickey and Robin Michael.
